Spotlight - Jahyom
Pitch Perfect is not involved with other music blogs. However I decided that I wanted to high light one of our musicians every month as I am a lazy blogger. Lots of time and effort and I am very busy with not only Pitch Perfect but with real life too.
So this month, the spotlight is on Jahyom, Pitch Perfects newest entertainer.
Jahyom is new to Second Life and he works hard to promote himself and his work. When Jahyom first approached me to sing at Pitch Perfect he advised that his taste and choice in music is Reggae, I wasn't quite sure I wanted this type of music but I decided I would hire him as it gives my venue a variety in music so I trialled him and I was blown away. As a result I love Reggae. It's fun. it is rhythmic, it is good and Jahyom draws the audience in to dance with him.
Jahyom is from Brazil, a Piscean (as I am), and resides in the city of Natal/RN, in Brazil. He is an Art Educator, Guitarist, Singer, DJ, Music Producer, Percussionist, and above all a Father.
He was trained by the School of Music of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (EMUFRN) where he graduated, specialized and mastered in Musical Education; and also studied the technical course in Musical Recording.
Jahyom was a guitarist in the rock band Organos, participating in several local events and also recording and producing the album Conflagração; He currently participates as guitarist in a band called Raulzitos (cover Raul Seixas), to which they have been performing tributes for the city for 14 years; He also plays and sings acoustic music with his guitar in the solo project Caio Leve or in partnership with other singers; He still produces electronic music in the dub reggae style with the Aliendígenas Dub project. Meanwhile, he has been working for 12 years as an effective arts teacher in the public schools of Natal.
By joining Second Life, Jahyom can bring out his entire artistic and human experience now for the Second Life audience. Jahyom's songlist is part in English and the other in Portuguese. The impressions generally commented are that his performance is "positive vibration", "full of energy", “joyful”, “lovely” and “spiritual". The songlist of his live show is made up of a precious selecta of Brazilian reggae stones (Cidade Negra, Natiruts, Tribo de Jah) and some international reggae hits (Bob Marley, Alpha Blondy, Iseo&Dodosound); the best of the Brazilian popular music (Chico Science & Nação Zumbi, Baiana System, Charlie Brown Jr.) with so many amazing songs; and also some reggae versions of Jahyom's favorites bands (Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Daftpunk and more).
Jahyom's performance on the stage reflects his passion for the music and by sharing his songs with others, which captivates the audience for a pleasant experience at each new show.
